DIRT DOBBERS scooter run Sept. 26th. all scooters welcome.

DIRT DOBBERS S.C. PRESENT:

SAT. SEPT 26th, long ride open to all scooters.

the ride will be free, no registration. there will be awards for the ride(people choice and DIRT DOBBERS choice). food you will have to pay for. your scoot should go faster that 40mph. the ride wont exceed the speed of 45mph, its not a race. no motorcycles at all!!!

itinerary:

meet @ 9am for breakfast, Kel's Kitchen(richardson off coit and arapaho). i think we might have parking set up for us. http://www.kelshomecooking.com/

ride leaves around 10:30am

ride out to the north part of dfw airport observation spot to watch the planes take off and land, they have free binoculars.

then a short ride to eat lunch 2-4:30pm, Hard 8 BBQ(coppell). the food is awesome here. there will be parking set up for us. http://www.hardeightbbq.com/

4:30pm head back to dallas for happy hour drinks at the Londoner(uptown dallas). there will be parking set up for us and i think there may be drink specials if your on a scoot. arrival time should be around 5:30pm, daytime fun ends at whenever. http://londonerdallas.com/

the awards will be given out at the Londener. peoples choice and Dirt Dobbers choice, a copy off Scootering magazine will go to the peoples choice winner. a set of 4 Guinness pint glasses will go to the Dirt Dobbers choice winner. a trophy, bottle of Belray si-7, and one beer of choice goes to both winners. you must do the whole ride to qualify for the awards.

friends/family/kids that arent ridng scooters are welcome to meet us at each restaurant. gas stops will be around every 40-50 miles. please show up at the meeting spot with a full tank. also, there will be no chase trucks, so make sure your scoots are running good.

the sept. 26th run is going to be around 100 miles long. the meeting spot will be in dallas. ride for some food, the bbq spot we've picked out is awesome. then we'll ride to a break point that should draw alot of interest, that's where the awards will be presented. then a long ride back to the meeting spot for drinks.

like i said, this ride will be open to all makes of scooters. scoots must be able to do 40mph+. it's not going to be a race, we're going to keep speeds around 45mph.

and yes, even lambrettas are welcome.

Denver you didnt check with me before setting the ride date. All ride dates must be approved by me to make sure Im not working on said date.

Ron and i ate at the bbq on monday. the food was the best, and they give you plenty of it. i cant wait to go back, this place is gold.

btw, i heard bryan st. tavern has good pizza.

bryan st. tavern DOES have good pizza. all their toppings come from Jimmy's, the italian deli down the street, and the mozzarella comes from the cheese factory in deep ellum. i'll be enjoying that establishment tomorrow night (7/24/09).

we scoped out Bryan street today. this place is dope. shuffle board, pool tables, video games, pizza, cheap beer, and good parking. its also got a stage for bands and a back porch.

I will do my best to be there. I am excited it will be my first ride with a group!!!
hopefully work will not be a problem :roll:

And by then the boys at vespalewisville will have my scooter all fixed for me!! I wrecked it :cry:

on a rainy day, should have taken the rider course!!!!!! :oops:

kels kitchen/homecooking, same place.

cloth patches are hand made. mostly done with stencils.

and to let you all know, the DDSC(DIRT DOBBERS) award in not only about your scooter, its also about the person riding it. so anyone can recieve that award except DDSC members.
