Okay, help! What is this bike? I bought it a few years back from a friend and thought it was cool with its retro rocket inspired fake gas tank. I never ride it and thought to see if anyone from the scooter community knows what it is or is interested in buying it from me.

$100 - come and get it!

Do you think the price is fair? I'm negotiable, but really don't know what I have on my hands!

Meanwhile, I get this just now from a Craigslist ad I posted

"i am interested in your bike, but i think you are way to high. i am 76 and have been looking for one like this for exercise. i cannot afford what your asking. please call me and see if we can work out a deal. 214xxx-xxxx Patty"

Really? Really? This is the type of bike a 76 year old woman has been looking for, for exercise? WTF? Why doesn't she look for a new bike from Target?

Thanks for all your input!

Maybe she wants a bike that reminds her of when she was younger? Or maybe she just wants to turn around and sell it for more. *shrug*

i think its a jc higgens from sears my mom had one as a child then it got messed up in a tornado in the 90's. ( i have a vintage pic of her and my uncle as a baby sitting on it) i was going to restore it for her but its to far gone. id love to buy it for her because she always hints around about it... but hers was blue, but i dont think she will care about color... the little fake gas tank has a little battery powered light built in it. pm me or call me thanks daniel

I think your price is more than fair! I have a 55 Schwinn I built for my wife about 20 yrs ago, don't think I'd take less than $350 for it.

I have maybe a half of dozen old midframe(24") size men & womens bike & parts to clear out, too.

Hey SD, I sent you a PM, and to everyone else thanks for the input!

The problem with a one-car garage is that other than 'one car' how many other wheels can you get in there?!!

Yup. Looks like a Sears/Higgins Spaceliner from the '60s. Cool bike. Unfortunately I already have 6 bikes in the garage. Need to get rid of my his 'n hers 1972 Raleigh Sports 3 speeds.

Hi all,

The bike is gone! A woman bought it sight unseen, sent her boyfriend over to get it, peeled off $100 and I'm done.

Thanks so much for your input!

PS - Keep those cool bike photo's coming!

Maria
